Illinois Soil

Illinois has some of the richest soil in the United States. It has taken hundreds of thousands of years to make Illinois soil what it is today. However, if we don't continue to take care of it, it can just take a few years to wipe out what has taken years to create.

Illinois Ag in the Classroom, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and other organizations have lessons, resources, book recommendations and so much more available to learn about our soil and how to continue to protect it. Check out all of the resources below for ideas, facts, and research.
